I’ve made the decision that, based on the weather, I’m going to work the rest of the day, and I’m going to work the rest of the day. I’ve been working the whole day, and I really like it that way. I like it that way because it makes me think outside of the box.
The weather is always a good indicator of the rest of the day. Also, there are many people who work all day, but then go home and go to bed. Or maybe not go to bed, but rather, go home, and go to bed. And then the weather will be like, “Oh, I guess I need to go to bed,” and you’ll be like, “Yup, definitely a good day.
I don’t think Im going to go to bed, but I can also imagine that I might not be able to go to bed. I just don’t know. I’m not sure I’m going to be able to sleep.
This is why work life consultants are so valuable. They are one of the least likely professions in the world to have a vacation. People don’t go to the beach, or go to the mountains. Their jobs require them to be at work all day.
Work life consultants are often called “workaholics.” But this is the first time I’ve heard the word “workaholic” used to describe someone who works at a job that doesn’t require much free time. That’s like calling someone who works at a job that requires a lot of free time a “workaholic”. It makes a lot of people sound like the opposite of workaholics.
I don’t even know how to answer that, or even if its true. I think its a good word that is used too few of the time.
The term workaholic was first created by psychologist Edward N. Zaltzman in his book, Workaholic, which I recommend if you ever need to sound like a workaholic. In the book he describes a person who always has a job, but is also constantly thinking about work and planning for it. The person does not do any actual work, but is always thinking about what he/she needs to do next.
If I had to pick one of my workday consultants who was always so excited about the job, I could probably pick a colleague who is. He would write the next thing. However, sometimes it’s a bit more challenging to actually be on a task than I think we’re used to.
It’s difficult when you’re doing something that really means something to you. Like, a person who is always planning ahead, and is always excited about what he needs to do next, but is never actually doing anything. I think that’s who I am in my consulting business. I’m constantly planning things that I can then implement on a day-to-day basis. I’m also very excited about new things and ideas, and I’m incredibly positive.
Im very lucky to be able to do what I do all day every day, and still find time to think out of the box and take action when I need to. I hope you will too. We all have that one person who is always on our minds, but never gets around to do it.
