First, it’s an easy way to find information that you can use to gauge a contractor’s credentials. Second, it’s a great way to find out how much trouble they’ve had in the past, and how much you can reasonably expect of them going forward.

This information is usually given as an incentive for a contractor to do a certain job. One that we ran across had a target on his resume that said he was a good contractor and that he would be working in a good company. However, that same company had a contract with this company that said he was not a good contractor and would be working in a bad company. The contractor ended up doing this job, and he ended up having a bad experience.
