You may have read the news about the huge increase in the number of op-analysts in 2018, and you may have also seen the news that the US Department of Labor is looking for an ops analyst to work on their new AI platform.

Actually, the news is a little bit different. The number of op-analysts is up, but they’re being replaced by better-trained software engineers with better tech. With this huge increase in the number of op-analysts, that means they are now being replaced by better-trained software engineers. In other words it’s the same thing: you are getting a brand new ops analyst.

I’m not sure if it’s a job for a new ops analyst, or to replace an older one, but it will be interesting to see what they look like when they start coming up with new technologies.

So far, the ops analyst job description has been fairly vague. You also have to be good at your analysis and writing skills.
