It looks like the building that used to house the fire department is now being used as a restaurant, so we have to call the place The Great Fire Department. But don’t call it that. Call it The Great Fire Restaurant.

The building is a part of a larger complex of buildings, the most well known of which is the fire station or fire house, and the fire department (which was formerly the police department). It’s located where the street formerly was called Woodward, and was originally built in 1928. It was designed by the Detroit firm of Thomas E. Bower and Company, and the architect was James Renwick.
