I love to go to the hardware store and pick out the biggest, smoothest looking part, whether it is a new part, a standard part or a custom part. I know that a lot of people don’t see this as a big deal, but it is.
It’s actually quite simple actually. If you’re buying a new component, you can’t just wait until a local shop has it in stock, because they have to have the same or similar specifications as the factory, and they have to be able to make the same component at the same factory for the same production run.
