The fact is that the majority of our thoughts and actions are on autopilot. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing either. Our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions carry us through our lives so we don’t have to stop and think about it every time we wipe our ass or start a car.
As it turns out, in the wake of the recent FBI raid on the offices of the National Space Foundation, the space industry just might take an early and hard look at the future of its own. The space industry is a huge business with huge investments in both commercial and government space programs. And it is not unlike any other industry. With big players like Boeing and Lockheed-Martin in the mix there are always a few small startups that are working to try to challenge the status quo.
If the NSA is the space industry it is also the CIA, FBI, Department of Homeland Security, National Reconnaissance Office, and dozens of other federal agencies. These agencies are all competing to become the gatekeepers for all of the data that is sent into and out of space. The space industry is not the only industry that is trying to change the way we use space, but it is definitely the largest one.
The problem with the space industry is that it is a very big industry. It has been around for decades. It has a long track record of success, and is well established in the US government. But there is a difference between being a successful company and being the only one who does. In the space industry, it is often very hard to say who is the only one when the industry shifts.
The space industry has always been the last to change. Just look at the space shuttle program. It is a legacy program that makes a lot of money, but it does not have many competitors in the space industry. But that isn’t the problem. The problem is that the space industry is one of those industries that makes you wonder if it’s even worth doing. In a way no one really believes it is.
In the early days, space was seen as a science fiction movie genre, or a space opera movie genre, or even an action movie genre. It was all the things that we had grown to expect from movies. But then we saw what was possible. NASA was formed in 1950 to create a space program, and then they created the Mercury program. At first it was just a space program then they started talking about doing manned missions.
Yes, the spaceflight era has been over for about thirty years now. But this is what I call the American near-death experience, the era when we are literally on a spaceship and are no longer human, flying through space on the most ambitious and futuristic thing to ever happen. The thing is that it seems like everyone is going to die today. From the time that we started talking about human spaceflight in the late ’60s to the present day, people die.
There have been over 7,000 people who have died in the space race. And there have been over 300,000 astronauts. So that puts the number of people who have died in the history of the space race at about 40 million, or 70,000 a year.
That’s a lot of people. And it’s not like humans are the only ones who die. Our planet has also lost more than 1 billion people in the last century alone. Of course, when you’re talking about the space race, you don’t have to mention the fact that the earth has been losing people for a long time.
In the video above you can see three astronauts, including the first American to walk on the moon, have died in the space race. And they were not the ones who died. They were the ones who were part of the shuttle program (which was cancelled), the ones who performed experiments to try to understand the effects of weightlessness on humans, the ones who were in the Challenger accident.
